Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the 17th Empire platform. They govern your rights and responsibilities as a user.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the 17th Empire platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our platform.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.

You must be at least 16 years old to use 17th Empire. Users aged 16–17 require verifiable parental or guardian consent.
You must provide accurate, truthful information when creating your account.
One person may not create or operate multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage in contests or voting.

By registering as a contestant, you confirm that you are entering on your own behalf and that all submitted content (photos, bio, stage name) belongs to you or that you have the rights to use it.
Contestants must not solicit votes through bribery, coercion, or any method that violates the spirit of fair competition.
17th Empire reserves the right to disqualify any contestant found to be gaming the system, submitting false information, or engaging in any form of fraud.
Disqualified contestants are not entitled to refunds of registration fees.

All votes must be purchased through our official platform using the provided payment methods.
Votes are non-refundable once processed.
Any attempt to manipulate vote counts through bots, scripts, unauthorised third-party tools, or fraudulent payments will result in immediate account suspension and vote voidance.
17th Empire's anti-cheat system operates continuously. Decisions made by the system are final and reviewable only by the support team within 48 hours of a result being published.

Payments are processed by Paystack. By making a payment, you also agree to Paystack's terms of service.
17th Empire does not store payment card details. All payment data is handled securely by our payment processor.
Registration fees and vote purchases are non-refundable except in the case of a verified technical error on our part.
If a contest is cancelled by 17th Empire before it begins, registered contestants will receive a full refund of their registration fee.

Prize amounts are set at the time a contest is published and are guaranteed to be paid to verified winners.
Prizes are paid via bank transfer within 48 hours of official results being published.
Winners must provide valid bank account details within 7 days of notification. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the prize.
17th Empire is not responsible for taxes, levies, or duties owed by winners on prize payments. Winners are responsible for complying with applicable tax laws in their jurisdiction.

The 17th Empire platform, including its design, code, logo, and content, is owned by 17th Empire and protected by copyright law.
By uploading content to the platform (photos, bios, etc.), you grant 17th Empire a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and promote that content in connection with the contest.
You retain ownership of your uploaded content. 17th Empire will not sell or license your content to third parties without your consent.

You may not use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
You may not attempt to access areas of the platform you are not authorised to access.
You may not reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the platform's code or data.
You may not harass, threaten, or abuse other contestants, voters, or staff.
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.

17th Empire provides the platform on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 17th Empire is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
